This is a product review for Cool Edit 2000 by TuCows.com

I was sitting at home one day thinking, I wonder what it's like to have a home recording studio? I know a few friends with small recording studios in their basements and have for a while thought of starting one. It's not only a huge project, but a very expensive one.

I found a great piece of software to hold over my recording studio desires for a while. Cool Edit 2000 has many of the cool effects of a recording studio built right in! It includes editing, filtering, resampling and other essential factors of a recording studio.

The general layout of the program is great for editing sound files of all types. It has many options for different options on the view of the sound including a waveform view, a spectral view, cue bars, grids and more! The most commonly used functions have buttons at the top and bottom of the program. You can zoom in and out easily with the zoom tools and a large display of the song position is at the bottom of the program.

It's audio editing features are virtually endless! It includes infinitely changeable filters, flanges, normalizers, amplifiers, envelopes, echos, distortion and more! Silence generators, frequency analysis, a handy loop mode and other advanced features are only the tip of the iceberg!

When you start up the demo it allows you to choose two of it's categories of program functions to allow you to test all areas of the program.

It's a great program for editing any kind of audio/video files, and it even makes MP3 files! For $69 you can't go wrong!
