Here's what WholeNote.com users say about CoolEdit 2000:

I like this product. The only thing I would change is my sound card and microphone. My favorite aspect of this product is that I can make my own recording and put it on a CD with the use of a burner. This product hasn't crashed on me, but it does get kinda slow when processing a change to a track. I recommend this product for all level, although for a professional musician, I would just go to a studio. This is great if you have a small band and want to maybe make a CD of yourself for friends.

Suitable for all skill levels of guitarists
Features:
4 track mixer. Need a sound card that you can plug a microphone into and speakers for your PC and your ready to create your own studio tracks. I have mine running on a 200MHZ Dell Pentium with 64mg of memory and it works just fine, albiet a little slow when processing. You can record 4 tracks seperatly then mix them together and add some different effects, such as chorus and reverb. You can also select the type of sound you would like to have like studio or concert hall or Bathroom recording.
Ease of Use:
Although it take a while to download on a 56k modem, this program installs in a matter of seconds. The learning curve is kinda steep, but after tooling around with it for a while you can basically figure it out.
